Anna Catharina (Cathy) Lagerberg

Anna Catharina (Cathy) Lagerberg, age 66, of Salt Lake City, Utah, passed away on Saturday, July 15, 2017, after a struggle with many health issues.  Cathy was born on August 4, 1950, in Salt Lake City, Utah to Karl Gustav Lagerberg and Anna Margareta Ericsson Lagerberg.  Her parents immigrated to Utah from Sweden in 1948, and she was the oldest of three children born in the United States.  Her family moved back to Sweden for three years, when she was eleven years old.  Her father served a building mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, supervising the church building program for all of Scandinavia.  This experience enabled her to learn her parent's native language, and to get to know and love all of her Swedish relatives.  She cherished the connection she felt to Sweden all of her life.

She attended and graduated from high school in Frankfurt, Germany, where her father was the building supervisor for the church building program for Continental Europe.  She loved the opportunities she had with her family to travel throughout Europe.  She worked as an Administrative Assistant for many years in San Jose, California, and the Washington, D.C. area.  Upon her return to Salt Lake City in later years, she was active in the Swedish Heritage Society, and particularly loved Swedish folk dancing.  She performed during the Salt Lake Winter Olympics.

Cathy is preceded in death by her parents, Karl and Anna Lagerberg.  She is survived by her sister Patricia Lagerberg Hardaway and partner Tyna Bittick, her brother Peter Karl Lagerberg, and wife Martha Bennion Lagerberg, nieces and nephews, Thomas (Toby) Hardaway, Ashley Hardaway Cutler and husband Brandon Cutler, Victoria Hardaway Collins and husband Christopher Collins, Julia Hardaway, Nickolas Lagerberg, Alexander Lagerberg, Anna Talia Lagerberg Hansen and husband Kory Hansen, grand-nephews, Gabriel Yarbrough and Kris Jude Hansen, and many relatives in Sweden.

Visitation will be held on Friday, August 11th, 2017, at 10:00 a.m. at the Bonneville Stake Center, 1535 Bonneview Drive, Salt Lake City, Utah  984015 followed by funeral services at 11:00a.m. at the Stake Center.  A grave side service will be held at 12:30 following the funeral at Mt.
