Blaine Bowden

“The Great Bodini”

1928-2019

Our dear father Blaine Bowden passed away on October 14, 2019, at home in Bountiful, Utah.  Blaine was born on July 26, 1928 to William Lavonzo Bowden and Lillian Mary Long Bowden in Ogden, Utah. He graduated from Ogden High School.

Blaine married Joyce Mae Dickens on June 25th, 1949 and they spent 70 wonderful years together, raising their 4 children Natalie, Suzette, Marc and Lisa.  Blaine and Joyce were blessed with 10 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. Blaine is survived by his 4 children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, his beautiful sister Beverly and many nieces and nephews.  He is proceeded in death by his wife Joyce, his parents, and 6 siblings. Renold, Garth, Genevieve, Shirley, Zada and baby girl Bowden.

Dad spent 38 years in the women’s shoe business at William B. Woods/Makoff and Nordstrom.  Where he made many lifetime friends. He found a great deal of joy in creating a beautiful yard and home. Fishing and hunting and giving life advice to the young men in the neighborhood.

A celebration of life will be held at The Bountiful Central Stake – 640 South 750 East on Saturday November 2nd at 11am.
