Richard Bruce Stone

Tuesday, December 4th 2018, Richard Bruce Stone, loving father of five died at his home in Millcreek, Utah.

Bruce (he was known and called by his middle name throughout his life--a source of no small irritation to him) was born in Arcadia, California on March 19, 1966 to Joyce and Gary Stone. Around the age of twelve he was--these are his own sentiments on the matter--”unceremoniously bundled off and tricked into being moved” to Provo, Utah.

After having a few years to adjust to the intermountain climate, Bruce fathered Kelsey Dawn Stone (now more commonly known as Kelsey Oram) and she became his light in the morning and the center of his world. Over the next decade he accumulated four more centers of his world (though his second child can be a rambling and insufferable twit, at times) and his love for each of his three daughters and two sons grew more profound with the years.

Bruce was known to his family, his friends, and his co-workers as a man who was deeply interested in people. He loved to try and understand others by learning about their passions, their motivations, and their cultures. He was not only interested in learning about others, but also in helping them. He was a man who would--quite literally--cross a continent if he thought he could lend a hand to help another and the effects of his generosity continue to have an impact on all those who were close to him.

Bruce is survived by his five children Kelsey Dawn (Bryan) Oram, Richard Shea (Stacie) Stone, Ashlyn Brooke Stone, Eryn Brielle (Cason) Stucki, and Taran Bruce Stone, as well as his Mother and Father Gary and Joyce Stone, his six siblings, as well as many loving nieces and nephews, and six of his grandchildren. He is predeceased by his granddaughter Reagan Isabell Oram.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, December 13th in the Centerville Stake Center (1461 N Main St, Centerville, UT).
