Carol Ann Keenan

Carol Ann Keenan, 84, died peacefully on April 18, 2016 at 4:28 pm surrounded by loving family. Carol was born to Charles C. and Clara B. Myers on December 5, 1931 in Great Bend, Kansas. She graduated from Great Bend High School in 1949 then attended the University of Kansas studying art and nursing. Carol married Francis (Red) J. Keenan on Sept 9, 1952 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Great Bend, KS. Red and Carol lived in Great Bend until 1979, then moved to St. Louis, Missouri. Carol later moved to Salt Lake City, Utah in 1982, to be closer to some of her children after her divorce from Red.Carol Ann Keenan is survived by her four daughters; Kathleen Keenan (OKC, OK), Mary Towns and Kelli Trautman (SLC, UT), and Ruth Paiano (Leesburg, FL), and seven sons; Joseph and Daniel, (Osage Beach, MO), Michael (Columbia, MO), William (KC, MO), James (St. Louis, MO), John and Paul (SLC, UT), 27 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren, and many dearly loved friends. Carol was a woman of great faith, who nurtured all those she encountered with amazing grace and dignity. Carol was an incredible artist. She encouraged creativity and beauty in her children and everyone around her. She will be greatly missed. A Catholic Funeral Mass was held on April 21, at 9:00 a.m. at St. Catherine’s Newman Center, where she was a long time lector on Saturday evenings. A Celebration of Life will be held at K2 the Church, 5049 S. Murray Blvd, Murray, UT. 84123, Wednesday May 11, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. in the main auditorium. In lieu of flowers, surprise someone with an act of extravagant kindness in honor of Carol.
