Carolyn Scholes

Carolyn Jean Anthony Scholes died peacefully on September 9, 2016 in Murray, Utah, at the age of 81 from complications incident to suffering a hemorrhagic stroke.  

Carolyn is survived by her brothers, Glenn "Duke" Anthony (Ruth) and Earl "Butch" Anthony (Sharon). Also by her children Lorraine O'Driscoll (Kent), Kathryn King, Mark Scholes (Susie), Charlotte Sturm, Julene Harrison (David), sixteen grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Frederick Eugene Scholes, her son Douglas Eugene Scholes and her parents Robert Harold Anthony & Frieda Hermina Hubner.

 

Carolyn was born on September 25, 1934 in Salt Lake City, Utah. She graduated from Cyprus High School and was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She worked a number of years for the Salt Lake County Division of Senior Services, and was awarded employee of the year. Carolyn loved to embroider and was an accomplished and very creative seamstress. She loved to collect dolls, she loved her dear friends whom she called "The Gang" and she dearly loved her cat "Jazzy". Her greatest joy in life came whenever she was together with her family.

 

A viewing will be held in her honor at the LDS Stake Center located at 5750 South Nena Way, Murray, Utah, on Wednesday, September 14, 2016 from 6-8 p.m. and Thursday, September 15, 2016 from 10:00 a.m-10:45 a.m., with a funeral service to follow at 11:00 a.m.

 

The family would like to thank Doctor Smith, Doctor Roller, Doctor Thomas and Doctor Reynolds, as well as all of the nurses and staff of the Critical Care Unit at Intermountain Medical Center in Murray, Utah, for their skill, kindness, compassion and care while taking care of our mom.
