Catherine “Faye” Barker

Catherine “Faye” Barker, 81, of Murray, UT, passed away naturally in the comfort of her home on August 26, 2020 at 5:08 PM. She drew her final gentle breath, resting peacefully, surrounded by those who loved her most.

Faye was a truly strong & compassionate woman who dedicated her life to the love & care of her family. She was a devoted, and loving Daughter, Sister, Mother, Grand & Great-Granny. She is lovingly remembered by her children, Patti & Brian Barker, Her Sister, Fran Williams, Brothers, Mart (Mercy), Gerald (Virginia) Williams. She is also fondly remembered by her six Grandchildren, Casie, JimmyJames, Stevi, Chelsea, Marti, James & Danielle, and her 11 Great Grandchildren, Jullien & Myles, Ryland, Destiny, Jayla & Kylinn, Drake & Jessie, Marie, Ellie & Rowan.

At the end, Faye was reunited with her other departed loved ones, Mother & Father, Celia & Ervin Williams, Brothers, Chan & Roger Williams, Daughter & Sons Joy, Kelly & Martin Barker, Great Grandchildren, Max, Kooper & Vance.

Faye was born in Marysvale, Utah in 1938. At just 19 years old she packed her things & moved to Salt Lake City, where she would live out her years with her growing family. Faye loved to travel with her sister & best friend Fran, they were inseparable friends. Faye & Fran enjoyed spending time with family and friends gathered round the kitchen table, drinking coffee, and sharing stories that would last for hours. For years they would spend every weekend together & played in a weekly Bunko group. They were equally sociable & loved going out for dinner or a movie with their friends (Many of which had been life-long). Even as they began to grow older, they would continue to spend their “Friday” nights together.

Faye worked ardently as a single mother raising her 4 children and with the help of her Daughter Patti, she would have an equal hand in helping raise some of her Grandchildren & Great Grandchildren. They began this journey 24 years ago, when they moved in together to raise Faye’s Granddaughters, Casie & Stevi. They both made a commitment to support, love & care for each other, no matter the consequence, as they were both devoted to supporting & loving ALL of their family members & loved ones no matter the circumstance. They remained steadfast in their commitment to each other until Faye’s final breath.

Anyone who knew Faye knew that her entire life was a tribute to her unwavering, unconditional love for her family & loved ones. Her life was a blessing, Her memory a treasure, She is loved beyond words and Missed beyond measure.

A Limb Has Fallen from The Family Tree

I keep hearing a voice that says, ‘Grieve not for me.’Remember the best times, the laughter, the song. The good life I lived while I was strong.Continue my heritage, I’m counting on you.Keep on smiling, and surely the sun will shine through. My mind is at ease, my soul is at rest.Remembering all, how I truly was blessed.Continue traditions, no matter how small.Go on with your lives, don’t worry about falls.I miss you all dearly, so keep up your chin.Until the day comes we’re together again.

Due to current COVID-19 gathering limitations we are still making considerations for planning a “Celebration of Life” to honor Faye. We appreciate your patience and ask that you forward your contact information (Name(s), Phone Number(s) & E-mail addresses) so we may contact everyone who would like to participate or attend.
