Charles “Charlie” “Chuck” Robert Hausladen
Charles “Charlie” “Chuck” Robert Hausladen died in Sandy, UT on February 25th, 2020 in a tragic car accident. He was one month shy of his 35th birthday.
Charlie was born on March 25, 1985 in Walnut Creek, CA to his parents, Steven and Sherrie Hausladen. Chuck moved around a lot growing up, and lived in six different states. He acquired friends wherever he went and graduated from South Valley School in West Jordan, UT in 2007. In 2008 he went to live at a care facility in Orem, UT called Mesa Vista. Chuck learned many skills as a janitor, clerk, dishwasher and assembler. He participated in the Special Olympics for a couple of years and won medals in running and shot - put events. More recently, Chuck shared an apartment with two other men as part of a program within Eaton Alliance.
Chuck was a caring, and kind individual. He loved talking on the phone, watching movies, and joking around with whoever would bite. Chuck loved having an inside joke with you, or a special nickname that he called you. He loved giving and receiving foot and shoulder massages, and loved when you let him use glotion. Chuck loved music and animals, had a slight obsession with caffeine, and loved to eat and cook a meal for family and friends. He was someone that his peers looked up to, and he was a supportive friend to everyone. Many have shared that their lives are better off for having known Chuck.
Chuck is survived by his parents, Steven and Sherri Hausladen of Magna, UT; his Grandma, Helen Hausladen; his sister, Kristal Welsh and her husband Thomas Welsh; his sister, Heather Brenner; his sister, Lacey Nelson and her husband Drue Nelson; eight nieces and nephews, Addison Rivera, Jewel Hausladen, Jazmynn Brenner, Dabria Rivera, Jaxton Brenner, Maizey Ventrello, Charlie Nelson, and Felix Nelson. He is preceded in death by his Grandad and Grandmother, Charles and Lornell Cooley; his Grandpa, Robert Hausladen; his dogs, Roadie, Sadie, and Buddy, and his good friend Shane Zapien.
Chuck will be cremated, and per his request, his ashes will be rotated between his immediate family members so they can all spend time with him.
A Celebration of Life will take place on March 10th from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints at 8739 W 3000 S, Magna, UT 84044. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Chuck’s life. In lieu of flowers, Chuck would love donations made to your local Humane Society.
Family members are invited to a luncheon at 1:00 pm at the same location.
