Della Aileen (AJ) Johnson, our dear mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend passed away at the age of 74 on August 8, 2016 in Taylorsville, UT from complications of dementia and diabetes. She was born Della Aileen Huitt to Eddie Lee and Thelma Aileen Latimer Huitt in Woodland, CA on June 23, 1942. She became known as AJ later in her adult life. She married Joseph Johnson in 1957 in Ennis, Montana. They were later divorced. AJ was a very loving and caring person always wanting to help everyone she could. She loved all of her family especially her children and grandchildren and her nieces and nephews. She worked hard all her life cooking and working on many ranches in Montana, buffet cook in Colorado and retired after 30 years as cashier for Harmons East grocery in Midvale, UT.  

She is survived by sons Jimmy Johnson, Jonathan Johnson, Jerry Johnson, daughter Jolene Johnson (Leo), sister Carroll Cropper, brothers Gene (Chris) Thomas and Ronald Neely, her grandchildren and her aunt Beverly Call. She was preceded in death by her mother, Thelma Aileen Neely and 2 sons, Joseph Lee Johnson and Jeffery Johnson.

The family wants to thank Avalon West Care Center for her care, Encompass Hospice for their compassionate care and guidance especially Penny, Crystal and Anne and her sister Carroll for her care and support. There will be an informal celebration in her honor on August 30, 2016 at the Taylorsville 26^th Ward bowery at 3495 W. 4850 S. Taylorsville, UT at 6:00 pm. Dinner visitation will be held immediately after.
