Douglas Nello Lincoln

SALT LAKE CITY -- Douglas Nello Lincoln, 65, passed away at 11:56 p.m. on Oct. 21, 2017, just four minutes before his 66th birthday.

He was born Oct. 22, 1951, the second of two sons of Reta Mae Ipson and Manly "Bud" Lincoln. Doug attended South High School in Salt Lake and later served in the U.S. Air Force. Doug married Susan Combes June 21, 1971, and they had two daughters together, Theresa and Cindy. They were later divorced. Doug married Linda Webb Aug. 16, 1997. They are the parents of one son, Colton. He enjoyed spending summers as a child in his mother’s hometown of Panguitch. He also enjoyed hang gliding and doing computer work. He loved spending time with his family, especially his great-grandchildren, who were the light of his life.

Doug is preceded in death by his parents, Reta Mae Ipson Lincoln Jones and Bud Lincoln. Doug is survived by daughter Theresa (Matthew) Strehlau and their children Ivan and Danielle; daughter Cindy (Joshua) Richins and Cindy's children Brittni (Mitchell) Posey (and their sons Breck and Xander), Ray (Kathlean) Hinnen (expecting a son in February), Austan (Loralee) Hinnen, and Robert (Kaylee) Hinnen (and daughter Alexa); son Colton (Jasmine) Lincoln; and step-children Natasha Webb, Rex (Archana) Ewer, and Justin (Evangeline) Ewer and their daughter Faye. Doug is also survived by his older brother Steve Lincoln, Steve’s wife Kit, and their family, along with many cousins and other extended family members.

No public funeral service will be held, but family members and close friends are invited to attend the placement of Doug’s ashes into a crypt on Saturday, Nov. 4 at 1 p.m., at Larkin Sunset Lawn Mortuary, 2350 E. 1300 South, Salt Lake City. A family gathering with refreshments will take place afterward at the Telford Ward chapel, 1834 E. Creek Road, Sandy. Please RSVP by calling or texting (801) 694-5594 if you are planning on attending.
