Ellen Merie Kharrl, age 57 of Ola, Idaho passed away on Wednesday, July 6, 2016 in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was born October 19, 1958, in Emmett, ID to the late Alvin Fred Smith and Marjorie Ellen Roesbery. Ellen resided her entire life in Idaho. As a mother of 5 children, Ellen was a hard worker. While taking care of her children at home, she also attended online school and obtained her undergraduate and graduate degrees. For 17 years following she worked for Gibbs and Company as an accountant in personal and business taxes.A member of the Ola Ladies Club, Ellen was a great friend to her neighbors. Nicknamed “Queen of the Fish Fry,” Ellen loved being outdoors, and enjoyed many activities with her family such as camping, fishing, and hunting. Ellen is survived by her loving husband Kent, brothers: John (Susan) Smith and Neil Kersey, sisters: Jessie Chastain and Lori(Rob) Wheeler, and children: Mike (Jennifer) Kharrl, Denaye Kharrl, Dawn Kharrl, Terra Taylor and Ariel Kharrl. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers. The Kharrl Family would like to thank the staff at the University of Utah for their compassion and care of Ellen.
