Gloria Arleen White
Gloria Arleen White passed away Sunday, March 14, 2021, on her 71st birthday, in Salt Lake City, Utah, from complications related to diabetes.
Gloria was born in Grants Pass, Oregon on March 14, 1950 to Ona Maxine (Powell) and John Howard Jones. She was raised in Southwestern Oregon. She enjoyed spending time with her family. Her fondest childhood memories are the times she spent at the racetrack where her father raced. As an adult, some of her favorite hobbies were reading, genealogy work, and traveling.
Gloria obtained degrees in accounting and management from Chemeketa Community College in Salem, Oregon. Most of her career was spent working for the United States Forest Service in Oregon, Alaska, and Nevada. She especially enjoyed being able to contribute her expertise working on the forest fires during fire season.
Gloria is survived by her seven children: sons Jonathan and Aaron (Heather), and daughters Vala (Michael), Tina, Sara (Sonny), Shanna, and Samantha (James). She is also survived by her brother Bernard (Annabelle), three grandsons Zackary (Brytnee), Richard, and Markus, three granddaughters Janie, Destiny, and Jacquie, and three great-grandchildren Harlow, Taven and Chloe.
Gloria was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Jay and Thomas, sister Glenda, her first husband of six years, Roger Grow, and her second husband of 39 years, Merle White, Jr.
