Jacqueline Gates Hyland passed away peacefully at her home on February 27, 2018 after losing her battle with a long illness. Jacqueline was born Oct 14, 1952, in Fort Worden, WA, to Phillo Gates and Ruby Pierce. The oldest of three children, she graduated from Kearns High School in 1971. Jacque married James Micheal Hyland on March 18, 1972 (divorced), they are the proud parents of two children. Jacque worked for Western Engineering for many years, and was a member and President of the ISA. Jacque was very outgoing and enjoyed spending time outdoors, particularly in Fish Lake National Forest, UT. Her most enjoyable moments were the time she spent with family, especially her grandchildren.
Jacque is survived by her mother Ruby P. Gates, brothers Kevin Gates (Shannon) and Keith Gates (Deanna), children Corilyn Kuehnl (Dan), Ryan Hyland (Terrie), grandchildren Timothy, Aubrey (Jordan), Brayden and Aidan, great grandchildren Kaidan and Koby, her close friend Larry Jacobson and other nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father Phillo Gates and her nephew Marshall Gates.
At Jacque’s request, she will be cremated by the Kramer Family Funeral Home and a Celebration of Life will be held on March 10 th at 6:00 pm at La Caille 9565 Wasatch Blvd, Sandy UT 84092. In lieu of Flowers please make a donation in Jacque’s name to Marshall Gates Foundation at 5170 S. Highland Drive, Salt Lake City UT 84117.
