Jerry Mont Richards, our loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend passed away on June 15th, 2017 at Ogden Regional Medical Center.
Jerry was born October 1, 1948 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Monroe and Eva Richards. Jerry attended Granite High School and Westminster College where he received a Bachelor of Science Degree. He served in both the Army and Navy and was a retired Naval Reservist. While on active duty, was awarded Good Conduct medals and an Army Achievement medal.
Jerry loved his family and was always concerned about their well-being. He'd often call to check up on everyone. Jerry's greatest joy was being a father and often told those around him, “those girls are my life.” He enjoyed going to movies, reading at the library, shopping, and going out to eat. He loved animals, especially dogs. He said if he were to go to heaven, he'd ask God if he could take care of the dogs.
Jerry loved watching sports. He was an enthusiastic supporter of both the Chicago Bears and Boston Celtics. He had an outgoing personality and loved telling silly jokes.
Jerry is survived by his children Natasha (Arthur), Teena (Brennan) and Natalie. His brother Boyd (Fran). His nephews Mike (Kolette) and Lance (Sophia) and his grandchildren Sage, Isabella, Juliette, and Valentina.
The family would like to thank his fiance Minda for her love and support. We would also like to thank Mike Bird for taking him to the hospital when he was sick and helping out with everything during his last days.
A Memorial Mass to celebrate the life of Jerry will be held on Friday June 23, 2017 at Noon, but friends and family that wish to visit with the family can come at 11:00 am. A luncheon will be held after the Mass.
