Josh Fitzgerald also known as Pockets passed away on Monday April 25, 2022 around 11 am at Dimple Dale Park. At the age of 28.

Many people knew Josh as Pockets. Josh got his nickname Pockets in high school for always having large pockets that contained things people needed. Few people knew his middle name was UA a family joke, but his birth certificate said Joshua.

Josh Fitzgerald was loved by many. His fun, creative soul, will never go without memory. Josh loved hiking, making jewelry, and spending time with friends and family. He was a generous giver with the biggest heart. No matter how you knew Josh he was always there to tell stories or give you a trinket he thought was cool.

Josh became the baby of his family when his younger brother Andrew passed away at 18mo. Because of this, he was the youngest to 5 other siblings, he was no stranger to sharing.

When you hung out with Josh, you knew you were loved unconditionally, no matter what you were doing Josh wanted it to be his treat, even if you insisted on paying this time, he wouldn’t let you. He had a big heart that way.

Josh had his own sense of style and most of the time he could be found wearing a bandana and something colorful with lots of pockets and jewelry. He loved bandana’s so much that he had a huge collection.

In his short 28 years, Josh had many accomplishments, Josh earned his Eagle Scout, and he Graduated High School (the only one in the family and he was proud of that fact). His siblings were homeschooled.

Josh was a true entrepreneur, whenever he wanted to learn something, he found a way to teach himself or someone who would teach him. Some of his skills include cooking, Wire wrapping, fire spinning, skiing, and making tinctures and salves to help with pain.

Josh never wanted anyone to suffer or go through any kind of pain emotional or physical. Josh always said, if he could do anything to make someone else’s life easier here on earth he would do it.

Josh dearly loved his nieces and nephews and they loved him. Many of them will tell you Uncle Josh was their favorite Uncle and Josh did everything he could to keep it that way. At family events, Josh could always be found hanging out with the kids pushing them on the swings or just playing video games with them.

Josh always said his true home was Sandy Utah, so he always tried to live in that city, and that is where he left this earth.

Josh was born in Murray Utah on December 9th 1993 at home. He's survived by his parents Kelvin and Louise Fitzgerald. Sisters, Heidi Morton, Anna Vincent, April Anderson, Michelle Wursten, his brother Isaac Fitzgerald, and 14 Nieces and Nephews. Josh was preceded in death by his Sister Rachel Fitzgerald and his Brother Andrew Fitzgerald, His Grandparents June and Alan Roper and Beth and Bud Fitzgerald.

A celebration of life will be on Saturday, May 14, 2022, in Josh’s honor, at 4:20 California time 5:20 pm Utah time. At Lone Peak Outdoor Gazebo 10140 S 700 E, Sandy, UT 84070. Guests are encouraged to Please share their memories and photos with the family.

The legacy that Josh left behind is in anyone who knew him, our hope is they will remember Pocket's motto and follow it. Always give to others, be spontaneous, find new adventures, and love like family. And never leave without telling someone you love them. Josh Fitzgerald will be deeply missed, we love you. Fly high.
