Kevin Galen Blatnick

Kevin Galen Blatnick

July 11, 1964 – January 27, 2023

On January 27, 2023, the world lost a husband, father, brother, son, uncle, grandfather and friend. Kevin Galen Blatnick passed away early that morning. He leaves behind his beautiful wife, Kelly Ann Blatnick, his two sons Ricky (Carlee) and Kevin Jr. (Shelly), his daughter in law Whitney, his grandchildren Dallon, Zarron, Nixxon, Kaydence, Maddison, and Evalynne, and his two dogs Hailey and Hazel. Among others include four brothers (David, Richard, Scott, Guy) three sisters (Debbie, Sherry, Tammy), nieces and nephews and tons of friends. All of which will miss him a great deal.

Kevin grew up in Wendover and then settled in Salt Lake (although Wendover was still his second home, and one of his and Kelly’s favorite places to go). Kevin met Kelly in 1986 and then they started dating on May 18, 1988. They were married 45 days later on July 2. That was one of the many things that Kevin was proud of, was that he met and married the love of his life within 45 days. Not only did Kevin fall in love with Kelly, but he took in her beautiful baby boy Tyler at only 4 months old. Kelly always jokes that Kevin fell in love with Ty first. Ricky was then welcomed in 1989, Ruby girl in 1990, Baby Boy in 1991 and Kevin Jr. in 1993. He worked as a UTA Bus driver for years before retiring and spending time with family.

Over the years, Kevin battled cancer 6 times total and beat it 5 times. He had it in his bladder three times and then his head and neck three as well. You would never meet another person who fought and fought and fought and never gave up. Kevin was determined to prove to the world how strong he was, and that is how we will always remember him.

Kevin loved motorcycles and going on bike rides over the years, especially when his son Ty was with him. We like to think that Tyler was waiting with open arms and welcomed his dad into Harley Heaven. He no longer has his illness holding him back from what he always loved doing.

Leave your bike tracks in the clouds now Kevin and always know that you will be missed and thought of every day, forever and always.

Kevin is preceded in death by his father Frank Sr., his sons Tyler and Baby Boy, his daughter Ruby, Kelly’s mother Junette, her grandmother June, many siblings, nieces, and nephews.
