Laibwij Lawin

Laibwij "Larry" Lawin, 58, passed away peacefully after a short battle with liver failure on November 20, 2016.

He was born to Lawin Wutkon and Aremen Lakibon in Mili A'toll, Marshall Islands.

Larry was a wonderful husband and father. Having been born in the Marshall Islands, and with only the opportunity for an 8th grade education, he worked many jobs to provide his family with the American dream. Over the course of many years, he was able to bring his wife and five children, one-by-one, to join him in America. He was an avid fisherman and loved spending time with his three grandkids.

Larry is survived by his loving wife, Jonie Lawin, and children Bruce Airam, Scotty Wotkon Lawin, Alin Kidid Lawin, Judipa Baby Smith, and Bellu Lawin.

A memorial service will be held in Laibwij’s honor on Saturday, November 26, 2016, with viewing held from 10-11am, and service following from 11-12pm at the LDS Meetinghouse, 3901 West 2925 South, West Valley City, UT. Internment will follow at the Ogden City Cemetery, 1875 Monroe Blvd, Ogden, UT.
