Larry Arthur Steinly

7/20/1944-11/9/2018

In Loving Memory

Larry Arthur Steinly, known to friends as “Uncle Steinly” passed away unexpectedly on Friday, November 9th 2018 at the age of 74. Larry was born in Balaton Minnesota on July 20th 1944. He is survived by his wife June and their two children, Mike and Aaron Steinly, his 3 grandchildren, Isaak Steinly, Jordan Walling, and Jared Walling, his sister Joan Ritter, his half sisters Sandra and Cathy, and his son in law Scott.

Larry will also be forever remembered by his many dear friends and several extended family members.

He was preceded in death by his daughter Julie Walling, his parents Dwayne and Irene, and his half sister Patty.

Uncle Steinly was a gentle giant, a big man with a big heart. He loved being the center of the stage, cracking jokes and telling life stories of his “truck driving days”. He loved talking to anyone that would listen. Larry would make friends with everyone he came in contact with, from the cashier at Walmart to the next poker dealer, Larry befriended many people in his lifetime. He was a simple man and enjoyed the simple things. Old country music, fishing for tiger muskies, eating rare steaks and baked potatoes, and playing poker were some of his most enjoyable times in life. In his later years, he discovered “YouTube” he would tell you, “anything you wanna know you can find it on YouTube” he would spend hours searching old country songs and looking up random stuff on YouTube and then tell everyone he knew about it the next day. For those who knew him, know that one of his favorite sayings was “Are We Done Yet” yes Uncle Steinly, we are done. Rest In Peace, Larry!

The family is having a Celebration of Larry’s life party on Wednesday, November 28th 2018 at River Oaks Golf Course Clubhouse, located at 9300 South Riverside Drive, Sandy Utah 84070 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM

Food and beverages will be served along with a poker game in Larry’s honor.
