Maria Elena Mestas

It is with great sadness that the family of Maria Elena “Ellen” Mestas announces her passing after a two year battle with cancer, on Thursday, March 19, 2020, at the age of 58 years. Born to Manuel and Rosa Mestas, Ellen will be lovingly remembered by her children, Tina and Travis(Bekka) Rich and by her step children Bill(Lindsey), Derek(Desi) and Amanda Dorman. Ellen will also be fondly remembered and greatly missed by her grandchildren, Calista, Ember, Mylez, Violet, Iris, Penelope, Noah and Sadie, and by her brothers, Manuel Mestas Jr. (Kim), Daniel Mestas (Ruth), Ernesto Mestas (Becky) and by her sister, Inga Dickerson (Walter) as well as her numerous nieces, nephews and extended family and dear friends. Ellen was predeceased by her mother, Rosa Palmer Mestas and nephew, Daniel Franciso Mestas. Ellen worked hard her entire life and loved her children and grandchildren tremendously. She often went without to provide for her children. She always said her greatest accomplishments were her children and she was so happy and proud when she finally became a grandma. Her grandchildren were the light of her life and she looked forward to watching them grow up. Ellen loved life and lived it to the fullest.  She especially enjoyed spending time with her family going on many trips together, summer camping, family bbq's, and going to the movies.  A Celebration of Ellen’s life will be held on Saturday, May 30th, 2020 at 10:00 a.m., at the Kramer Family Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 2500 South Decker Lake Blvd., Suite 1, West Valley City, Utah, 84119, with Pastor Cindy Timothy officiating. Interment will follow at the Salt Lake City Cemetery on 200 “N” Street, Salt Lake City, Utah 84103.
