Paul LeRoy Soderstrom

“This is the story of a man who was born many years ago, when there was peace upon the land.”

Those are the words of a storyteller when he attempted to write his own life story. This man was known as Paul LeRoy Soderstrom. He passed away on May 24th, 2022, at the age of 76 years old, at Rocky Mountain Care Center in Tooele, Utah. He was born June 29th, 1945 in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Ed and Merle Soderstrom.

Paul was the third of five children, who loved to hunt together with their father at Soldier Summit. This became a tradition every year that Paul looked forward to.

Paul is the father of five, beautiful daughters and he led the life he wanted to live each and every day. He had dreams of seeing the world, but to his disappointment, that ship never left past Mexico.

Paul worked in manufacturing and he could fix any sewing machine around. He loved to collect old model cars and was a big fan of President Donald Trump. Paul loved country music and watching war videos. His favorite TV show was “Friends” which gave him a close connection to his daughter, Donna. He always had a great joke to tell and was a rebel at heart. Paul belonged to the LDS church and it was not uncommon for him to help the less fortunate.

Paul was preceded in death by his wife, Elia Tellez Soderstrom, his daughters Donna Jene Cooke, Bonnie Jene Stephen, Teresa Jene Pixton, and his parents Ed and Merle Soderstrom. He passed away, eager to be with them once again.

Paul is survived by his daughters April (Jack) Riggs, Shelly (David) Parker, fourteen Grandchildren and twenty-two Great Grandchildren, as well as Sister Carol Hilton, Sister Lee Ann (John) Watkins, Brother Bob (Ila) Soderstrom and Brother Carl Soderstrom.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the LDS Ward House 1030 S. 900 W. Tooele, Utah on Friday 5/27/2022 at 2:00pm. The Dedication of the Grave for family and close friends will be held in the near future.

We would like to give special thanks to the Rocky Mountain Care Center for their tireless love and care, and we would like to especially thank Paul’s good buddy Brandon Balser who went above and beyond daily for him.
