Danny died peacefully on the evening of Thursday August 2, 2018 at the University of Utah Hospital in Salt Lake City, UT.
It is with great sadness that the family of Robert “Danny” DeShaw announces his passing after battling a long term illness, at the age of 62 years. Danny touched the lives of many and will be lovingly remembered by all.
“A Tribute to Our Dad, A Simple Man”
Robert Daniel DeShaw, who was mostly known as “Danny”
Lived 62 great years and loved his entire family.
From his daughters to his grandkids, and his sisters to his brothers,
Danny touched the lives, including many others.
Our Danny led a truly simple life, and enjoyed all of Mother Nature,
From the Montana agates he picked designed by our one creator.
He’d spend hours to days kayaking on Seven Sisters, to find only the best ones,
he could cut and polish into figures.
Our Father was a Harley man, who rode for days on end,
Traveling near and far on some of God’s greatest land.
From Great Falls to Piedmont, and most places in between, our dad
Would work as an electrician, some who’d say he prefer to be unseen.
A witty guy, our Danny was, who loved to laugh and joke,
But bring up politics and you may get a terrible poke.
A poke to get you to vote his way, our dad would be persistent,
But truly a proud American was he, with his patriotism not too distant.
Our Danny Boy will surely be missed, our hearts will ache for him,
but knowing he found Jesus, is a blessing that his suffering has come to an end.
A Father, a Grandfather, a Brother, an Uncle was he,
will now watch down over us when we take a knee.
Our dad is now in heaven, may he rest in peace,
with the family of our other lost loved ones, our thoughts will never cease.
We love you Dad, we always did,
from all of us girls, you call your kids.

Robert “Danny” DeShaw is survived by his oldest daughter Jasmine DeShaw-Scholes (Colby) and his child Kimber; his daughter JoyLynn H. DeShaw and her daughters: Isabella Marie, Gabriella Sue & Adalia Grace; his daughter Jenna Jean DeShaw and her daughters: Bristal Francis & Addison Lynn. He is also survived by his siblings: Merlin (Barbara Woodbury); Sherry Shumake; Susan McKenna (Dennis); Lyle (Bernie); Billie Thompson (Steve); Lawrence (Ramona); and numerous nieces, nephews, and in-laws whom he loved so much.
Robert “Danny” DeShaw is preceded in death by his sister Barbara (DeShaw) Cybulski, his brother David DeShaw, and his parents Barb Walla (Gerald) and Daniel DeShaw.
A private celebration of Danny’s life will be held at his family’s reunion.
