Rose Marie Harris (Rosie) was born the youngest of five children in Logan, Utah, on May 4, 1962, to Paul and Charell Harris. She lived her life exuberantly every day until her sudden death on December 17, 2016. 

Rosie played softball and rode horses growing up, and graduated from Olympus High School in 1980. She attended then-Weber State College on a softball scholarship before moving to San Francisco and opening a thriving hearing aid practice. She later moved back to Utah and worked as a stagehand and dispatcher with local unions.

Hanging out with Rosie was a guarantee of a good time and at least a belly laugh or two. She had more than her share of struggles and hardship, but she turned her pain into love and hard work. She showered everyone she met with praise and affection, and had a talent for seeing the very best in people. Rosie knew just how to make everyone feel important.  She was grateful for all that she had and strived always to make it better. She turned her rocky, barren back yard into a thriving garden every summer and shared the harvest freely.

She was the last resort for many people when they had nowhere else to go. She would spend hours asking about people’s lives and hearing their troubles, but always found a way to help them feel like the hero of their own story.

She was many things to many people, but if there were just a few words to describe Rosie they would have to be fun, enthusiastic, peace maker, hard-working and generous. She worked to always be the best she could be, and those who knew her can say without hesitation that she succeeded. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Charell Harris.  She is survived by her 4 older siblings; Jared Harris, Jeena (Clair) Nilson, Steven Harris and Suzanne (Kenneth) Palmer, as well as 14 nieces and nephews and nearly 20 grandnieces and nephews. 

Services will be held on Thursday, December 29th, 2017, 11 AM, in the 19th Ward LDS Church house, 255 W 500 N, Salt Lake.  If you wish to express condolences, the family will gather at 10.  Interment at Logan City Cemetery, 1000 North 1200 East) @ 4 pm that same day.  A 5 pm Memorial service will also be held in the 4th Ward LDS Meeting House, 100 E 100 N, Providence, Utah.  We welcome attendance at all or any of these memorials.
