Shauna Christensen Holloway

Our beautiful mother, Shauna Christensen Holloway, left her mortal body on August 21, 2021. She was reunited with her sister and parents, whom she missed tremendously. Although the health struggles she endured for many years has come to an end, we know she is now breathing freely.

Momma was born in Fillmore, Utah, on May 8, 1953 to Ada I. Johnson and Joseph C. Christensen. She was raised in Spanish Fork, Utah and graduated from Spanish Fork High School in 1971. She remained close with many of her childhood friends, some who were cousins, whom she cherished until the very end.

In 1974 our mom married Michael C. Gillespie and together they had 4 children; Jennifer, Christopher, Erin, and Teri-jo. They divorced, and later she married Robert Johnson and together they welcomed a daughter, Jamie. They later divorced and years later she met and married Richard Holloway. They spent 28 years together before he passed away January 8, 2016.

Mom worked many years as a dirt scale operator for Staker Paving in North Salt Lake, a job she loved. Here she met many amazing friends, who she stayed in touch with after all these years, many we consider family to this day. You know who you are!! She later went on to work for Maverick and then Holiday Oil before her health prevented her from working further.

Our mom fought COPD for many years. There were a few times we thought we would lose mom, but the fighter in her remained strong and she always proved the doctor's wrong. At one time we were told we would be lucky to get two more years with her, but her courage and strength allowed us much more. Momma proved the doctor's wrong each time and fought to stay with us. Her health continued to decline and after losing her sister in February of this year, a loss she struggled with, her body was ready to go. We were not prepared for a loss this great, even though we faced many close calls in the past.

We love you, mom! Our hearts are literally broken, but we know you are finally at peace. You can now breathe and move around freely, something you haven't been able to do for many years. Give everyone in heaven hugs for us! You are loved beyond words and will be missed for the rest of our days, until we see you again.

Momma is survived by her children; Jennifer (Gillespie) and Dennis Woodcox, Chris and Bree Gillespie, Erin (Gillespie) and Wayne Holdaway, Teri-jo (Gillespie) and Jacob Evans, and Jamie Johnson and her fiance, Jason Thomas, 25 grandchildren, two great grandsons, her brother and sister- in- law, Darrell and Janell Christensen, her brother-in-law, Troy Swain, her nieces and nephews, uncles, aunts and cousins.

Mom was proceeded in death by her parents, her sister, Maryann Christensen Swain, her maternal and paternal grandparents, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins, who all welcomed her in Heaven with open arms. She is also proceeded in death by her grandson, Dillon Rawson, who she couldn't wait to meet. We can only imagine what a joyful reunion it was!!!

According to mom's wishes there will be no funeral. Mom wanted everyone to celebrate her life in a way that everyone could be themselves and have fun. A celebration will take place on September 25, 2021 from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm at T. John Labrum Park located at 6041 So. Jordan Canal Road, Taylorsville, Utah. A light luncheon will be served. We would love for her friends and family to gather and share your memories of her. Her favorite color was pastel pink and she loved everything turquoise and Native American. We would love for her family and friends to wear something in remembrance of our sweet mom.
