Timothy Allen Jessup
Timothy Allen Jessup died on February 24, 2020 at the home of his sister, Mary Lou Otteson after a 2 year battle with cancer. He was surrounded by family as he took his last breath.
Tim is the 5th of 8 children of David L. and Noleen Farnsworth Jessup. He was born on August 1, 1956 and grew up in the Sandy-Willow Creek area. He married Helen Baxter and they had 2 daughters, Jennifer and Rhonda. Helen had a son from a previous marriage and Tim loved Stanley as if he was his own son. After their divorce, he married Tammy Hillman and they had a son, David Timothy. Tim has 5 grandchildren: Jordan Jones, Aaliyah Carter, Victoria and Dallas Jones and Quintin Jessup.
He made friends easily and friends were very important to him. He could keep you in stitches with his funny stories and jokes. He kept his sense of humor until the very end. Tim loved the outdoors, especially fishing and boating. He had a great love for animals and would bring any stray home. At one time he had a tarantula and a pet snake. His blue healer dog Chili was his constant companion.
Tim worked construction and became a crane operator. He could fix almost anything and enjoyed helping others. He would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it.
He is survived by his 4 children: Stanley, Jennifer, Rhonda and David and his siblings: Mary Lou (Larry) Otteson, Joyce (Bill) Sudweeks, David (Kathy) Jessup, Thomas (Teri) Jessup, sister-in-law Monica Jessup, Chris (Roberta) Jessup, and Kenny (Heidi) Jessup.
Preceded in death by his parents, brother Gordon Jessup, and wife Tammy.
The family would like to thank Dr. Richard Frame and Dr. Amy Cruz and all the wonderful people at the Utah Cancer Specialists in West Jordan for taking care of Tim. Special thanks to Quality Home Health and Hospice for the tender way they took care of Tim’s needs, especially his last few weeks.
Funeral will be held Saturday, February 29, 2020 at 11 am at the Hunter 35th Ward building, 3745 S. 6400 W. West Valley City, Utah. Tim’s request was to be cremated so there will not be a viewing.
