DeVal Merrill Day

DeVal Merrill Day, born August 7, 1959 passed away peacefully in his home on April 3 rd . He battled a hard long fight with diabetes and had other medical issues which resulted in his passing. He is survived by his parents, Joyce and Merrill Day, two children, Tasha Marie Day (36), and Dakota DeVal Day (29), his sister, Michelle Day (57), two grandchildren, Aaron Christopher Meints (16), and Aaliyah Marie Meints (13).

DeVal had many passions in life with music being one of them. He lived in California for most of his life where he was a recording engineer producing music with so many great artists. He has also written and recorded many of his own records with some amazing bands he was in.

He was also the biggest animal lover which kept him busy the last 10 years. He would always care for and spend time with his daughters two dogs Sophie and Jazzy. Jazzy ended up being the one who took care of him in the end. They were inseparable and the bond they shared left you speechless. He also loved all the animals he grew up with as a child.

He was a beautiful skier, swimmer and diver (including from the ten- meter tower).

The love he had for his children, grandchildren, parents and sister kept him going for as long as he did. Never missing a dance recital, family gathering, or football game made him the best grandpa ever. The bonds he had with his friends were also very special to him. Dakota’s favorite memory of him and his dad together was playing catch and how proud he was of his son because he had such a great arm.

His kids and his grand kids will continue to make him proud because we know that he will be watching over them. Rest in Peace beautiful soul, we will cherish your memories till we meet again.
