Emily Lopez

Our dear wife, mother, sister, grandma, and great-grandmother passed away on March 9th, 2020 to be greeted by her parents and siblings whom have passed before her.

Mom was big hearted, spontaneous and mostly our biggest cheerleader. She was always up for a camping or fishing adventure, or just being outdoors. She also enjoyed playing bingo, sewing, reading or making her favorite traditional Mexican dishes.

She was always up for a good game of pool (knowing she was the “pool shark”) she’s still convince you to play knowing you didn’t stand a change against her. What she enjoyed most was tending to her husband, Tom.

Mom was born March 28th, 1948 in Durango, CO to Frank Chavez and Elinor Trujillo (Salas). She grew up in Salt Lake, moved to Ogden UT and later returned to Salt Lake.

On May 15th, 1967 she married Alfonso Ramirez, later divorced, together they had three beautiful children.

In 1985 she met Thomas Lopez, the love of her life, they married on January 12th, 1998 until her passing she still professed her love for him.

Mom is preceded in death by her parents and five siblings.

She is survived by her children: Livio, Gabriel (Dawn), Michelle (Ron). Step-kids: Ranel, Monica, Paul, Rhonda, David, Mike and Christina. Nineteen grand-kids and twenty-two great-grand-kids, seven siblings: Alice, Rosalie, Carmen, Joann, Willie, Joey and Chantell.

Our family would like to express a heartfelt gratitude to Janette and Lorraine, along with the hospice staff, Sonia and Cassie for loving and care and being so responsive to any needs during her transition into heaven.

Services will be held Saturday March 14th, 2020 @ 11am - 3pm where friends and family can gather to pay their last respects.

Mom, you will forever shine in all of us; thank you for holding our hands, we will forever keep you in our hearts.
