Jackie Lee Rees

Jackie Lee Rees

AKA, The Long Cool Woman In a Black Dress!!!

Jackie Lee Rees was the 8th child born to William Keith Rees and Rose Nell Ulrich Rees.  Born into a military family on July 26th, 1961 at Sheppard Air Force Base in Wichita Falls, Texas.

Jackie passed away into God's arms unexpectedly with her neice Jenny and they walked each other home hand in hand into the gates of Heaven.

Jackie chose her friends carefully. She had a habit of taking in stray souls just like her mother Rose.  She was a jokester and could make anyone laugh until their sides hurt.  Jackie was the most generous person. We had to be very careful with what we gave her because she would find a new home for it in a split second to someone who she felt was more deserving or in need.

Jackie was a simple person, with very few material needs. Possessions were unimportant to her. All she ever needed was a roof over her head. Everything else she would give away to those who she felt were in need. She literally would give the shirt off her back. It brought her such Joy and happiness. She never turned her back on anyone.  She gave everything she had to share.

Jackie had the biggest heart and worked hard to see the good in everyone.  She never spoke unkindly to anyone, not a word. She understood we are all struggling.

Jackie was articulate in speech and words were how she could express herself in the most beautiful ways that could touch your heart so deeply and profoundly. She was right to the point and didn't mince words.  She was one tough cookie and you didn't mess with her!!  She always had your back, you could trust in that. If she loved you, she fought for you to the end.

Jackie wore her heart on her sleeve. When it came to her family which she loved so deeply, this was her most prized possession.  She knew more than most what was truly important. Family, whether biologically or chosen by the heart, NOTHING mattered more or had greater value.

Jackie has joined the love of her life, James Ashmore. Her father William, her mother Rose. Her 4 brothers, Randy, Sandy, Ricky and her little bro Lanny. She is accompanied by her neice Jenny who joined her on this journey homeward.

Jackie leaves behind 2 beautiful daughters, Jamie and Jessica, Jessica's husband, Gary and 10 beautiful grandchildren of Salt Lake City. Her brother Danny of Colorado, sister Victoria of Murray, Mickie of Alaska and Beckie of South Jordan. She has many nieces and nephews, too many to list. Finally the brother of her heart, Doug of Salt Lake and her sissy Debbie Peterson Rees of Centerville.

Jackie was a spiritual person, she lived her life everyday waiting to be reunited with her family which she loved  and missed deeply. Jackie knew her savior and lived her life trying to be a better person because of it.

Our entire family is shattered  as our hearts ache for her. However with faith we will slowly pick up the pieces and someday we will be reunited with our Heavenly family. We pray we will be watched over by our newest Heavenly angels until we meet again on the other side of the veil.

As Jackie has said many times from her heart and soul "We are all just walking each other home."  I would like to ask that we be reminded of this,  to hold each other's hands and hearts through this painful time moving forward to our place of peace.

Love you Mama, Grandma, Sister, Auntie, Sweet Pea, Nutburger, Jeckle, Friend!!

Love you to no end!!!!
