Aileen VanOrden Arnell

Aileen VanOrden Arnell 1927-2018, wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2018, in Bountiful, Utah. Aileen was born on June 21, 1927, in Ruth, Nevada to Harris and Ingra VanOrden. On August 9, 1947, she married Elwin Pugmire Arnell in the Logan Utah Temple.

One could not know Aileen without knowing that her greatest happiness came from her family. As the revered mother of 7 sons and 1 daughter, she spent her life serving her family. She also played a pivotal role in the uniting of other families through her devoted service to Family History work, further exemplifying her testimony of the eternal nature of families.

Another overwhelming theme of her life was her commitment to her faith. She was a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers and served in numerous callings in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Her love for her Savior governed her actions each day of her life. As such, she left a legacy of charity, goodness, and faith.

She is survived by her husband Elwin; seven sons, David (Kay Lynn) of Kaysville, Utah, Dennis (Debbie) of American Fork, Utah, Blake (Connie) of Farmington, Utah, Kirk (Linda) Farmington, Utah, Blair (Debbie) American Fork, Utah, Mark (Laurie) of Saint Louis, Missouri, Glen (Renee) of Saratoga Springs, Utah and one daughter, Joy Hawkes (Mark) of Madison, South Dakota; 47 grandchildren, 117 great-grandchildren, 5 expectant mothers (Total posterity 227).

There will be a viewing at 9:00am on Monday, Dec. 3, 2018 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints 1476 North 300 West, Bountiful, Utah. Funeral services will follow at 11:00am. Interment, Bountiful City Cemetery.
