Blaine D. Bendixsen, 94, passed away peacefully on February 28, 2018. He was born on May 17, 1923 to Carl Stephen Knud and Mary Caroline Bendixsen in Salt Lake City, Utah. He graduated from West High and the ROTC program. He joined the Army Air Corp and served during World War II where he was a Machinist, manufacturing by airplane parts from 1942 to 1946. After returning home, he served an LDS mission to Denmark from 1947 to 1949. He obtained his bachelor degree from Utah State University, attend college in Oklahoma and Ball State University in Indiana. He taught for 32 years for public school mostly at Brockbank Junior High. He married Rita Marie Bukke in September 1950 in the Salt Lake Temple. They were blessed with a son Steven. Rita passed away in July 1977. Blaine married Phyllis White Williams on April 6, 1979. Phyllis has three children, Cindy, Annette and Stephen. Blaine served in the LDS church as a Bishop in two wards, High counsel in two stakes, 2nd Counselor in the Stake Presidency, and many other callings. He served as a Temple worker in the Jordan River Temple. He served with his wife Phyllis in the Washington Tacoma Mission in 1996 to 1998 and also served as stake missionaries in the Salt Lake Jordan Stake.
Blaine enjoyed his children and grandchildren; whether playing games or having them visit. He said they were a thoughtful and delightful bunch. He had a strong testimony of the Savior and was willing to share it with all.
Blaine was preceded in death by his parents, 4 brothers and 2 sister; Russell, Edna, Floyd, Maxine, Grant and Kay, his first wife, Rita, a daughter in law, Ellen Bendixsen and a granddaughter, Caitlyn Williams.
Blaine is survived by his wife Phyllis, four children: Steven (Terri) Bendixsen, Cindy (Mark) Thacker, Annette Bohne, Stephen (Caleen) Williams, 17 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11 AM on Tuesday, March 6, 2018 at the Salt Lake Jordan Stake Center located at 3676 West 4700 South. A viewing will be held prior to the funeral services from 9:00 AM to 10:45 AM. Interment will be at Valley View Memorial Park located at 4335 W 4100.
