Blaine Randy Butcher, known by most as "Randy," passed away on July 8, 2018, at the age of 70 years.
Born in Salt Lake City May 8th, 1948, Randy attended West High School in Torrance, CA and graduated in 1966 where shortly after graduation he joined the Army’s 9th Infantry Division and then in headed off to Vietnam. After the war Randy joined backup with his family in California and worked for his father’s Painting company. Randy eventually started owning and operating his own painting company - R. Butcher Painting INC. where he was licensed in Utah and California.
Randy was a very private person so not many knew of his battle with cancer. His cancer was successfully put into remission in 2014. Unfortunately, the cancer came back more aggressive in June 2018 which lead to the complications that took his life in the comfort of his own home (as he wanted) with his wife Dottie of 39 years and his youngest two children (Matthew and Andrea) and grandchild (Victoria) at his side.
Randy loved surfing, hiking, privately studying, challenging jobs, and debating (his most notable debate would be that of the one with his 8th grade guidance counselor where he successfully debated his way out of having to take Algebra – by proving to his counselor as to how and why he did not need to know it).
He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Dottie Butcher, sons Randy Butcher, Jr. Matthew Butcher, and daughter Andrea Butcher and grandchild Victoria. He is also survived by his stepson Michael, stepdaughter Christina, step grandchildren, Alex, Mckenna, Hayden and Rylee and step greatgrandchildren, Grayson and Emma D.
Randy is also survived by his brothers Bob and KC, sisters Patricia, Jeri and Jamie and is proceeded in death by his parents Blaine and Helen Butcher, and sister Nancy.
A Graveside Service of Randy will be held at 9 am, on Friday, July 20th, at Fort Campbell Cemetery, 17111 1700 W, Bluffdale, UT 84065
