Christine Pratt Gonzales, 72, peacefully passed away November 15, 2019 at her home in Taylorsville, Utah. She was born in Ventura, California to Alma Parker Pratt and Grace Madsen in 1947. She enjoyed music and languages from an early age, talents which she used for the rest of her life. In her youth, she lived in California, Hawaii, American Samoa, and Australia where she developed a love and appreciation for many cultures and peoples.

Christine married Mario Juan Gonzales on April 1, 1978 and they subsequently lived in Bolivia, Hawaii, and Utah. She became a college professor and taught foreign language for many years at Salt Lake Community College. She mentored and assisted countless students throughout the years and promoted the value of education. She primarily taught German, but also assisted in Spanish instruction.

Christine was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and found joy in serving others, particularly through music. She participated in many choirs, musical groups, presentations, talent shows, and events. Her talents were most appreciated as someone who could be an impromptu accompanist. Her favorite calling was to play for primary children each week.

Christine loved her family and loved her roles as mother and grandmother. She encouraged those around her to be peacemakers and seek cooperation instead of division.
Christine is survived by her husband Mario, children Stefan (Angel) Gonzales, Keahi (Susan) Gonzales, Omar Gonzales, Andrew (Ariel) Gonzales, Giuliano (Julee) Gonzales, 14 grandchildren, and siblings Pete Pratt, Laura Lee Edwards, Gail Wasden, Marcia Newell, and Don Pratt.
