Damon Cox

Damon Lawrence Cox Sr. 57
Damon Cox, passed away on August 18th 2020 in his home with his loved ones around him.
Damon was born at Fort Carson, in Colorado on April 10th 1963. He lived in California for some time and later moved to Montana in 1974. After he graduated high school, he attended Montana State University and Ricks College in Rexburg Idaho. He moved to Guymon, Oklahoma in 1985. He had 3 girls while he moving around to Texas, Montana, Virginia, and back to Oklahoma over
the next few years. In January of 1992 he moved to Salt Lake City, Utah. This is where he spent his next 28 years. He raised 4 kids during this time. Had had many different jobs of many different types.
Damon Cox has been a great father, friend, son, brother, and person. He was the kind of guy that would give you his shirt without being asked. If he saw a problem he would try to help however he could. He is one of the best people anyone could have ever known and had the biggest heart. Someone that always had your back and never left. Whenever he was knocked down, he always got back up, bigger and better than before. The characteristics of this man were sometimes unbelievable. Being able to meet someone and make them a friend or brother for 20+ years. Not caring about what anyone else thought of him, only what he thought for everyone else. He taught his children respect, morals, ethics, and how to grow up to be good people. Damon loved the outdoors, fishing, hunting, any thing he could do to get away from the city and people. The only thing he ever loved more than the mountains of Montana was his family. Art was another passion of his and he was pretty good at it. He was smart, strategic, outgoing, caring, and very talkative. Through out his life, trials, and accomplishments many would say he earned himself a B.A. in BS just as he often did. Damon was also a major fan of sports. His favorite teams were the Dallas Cowboys and the Utah Jazz, and he would happily let anyone know; plus probably throw in a couple playful jabs about who ever your favorite team was. Front yard football was probably one of his first sports he enjoyed with his siblings, and the love continued to grow. Please, do not get this man talking about politics or you may be occupied for the next few hours. Damon definitely knew what he believed and surely stuck to it. He was a man unlike any other. You knew the moment he walked in a room, just because his presence was so strong. He carried himself in a way nobody can ever forget. Damon will surely be missed and loved by many forever. We have been blessed to have him in our lives.
