On Saturday, March 16, 2019 Dieter Poppenhausen ended his journey here on earth and returned home to his beloved mother, Ruth, and his cherished grandparents, Otto and Frieda. He passed away at his home in Kearns, Utah. He was 49 years old.

Dieter was born on June 3, 1969 in San Francisco, California to Dieter and Ruth Poppenhausen. His parents divorced when he was 5 and him and his mother moved to Salt Lake City, Utah where his maternal grandparents lived. In 2011, Dieter graduated from Everest College with two Associates degrees, one in Business Administration and the other in Accounting.

Dieter enjoyed computer gaming and role play gaming. He also enjoyed anime and kung fu movies. Dieter worked in many different jobs but the common thread was all his supervisors spoke of what an amazing worker he was and how friendly he was to customers.

Dieter’s best trait was his tender heart. He was always willing to help anyone in need and would have given you the shirt off his back.

Dieter was preceded in death by his mother, Ruth and his father, Dieter. He is survived by two aunts, two uncles, and many cousins. He is also survived by many friends. He will be missed.

A celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, March 26th at 10:00 am. It will be held in the Relief Society room at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints located at 3730 West 6200 South, Kearns, Utah. Interment will be with his mother at Memorial Lake Hills Cemetery.
