Douglas K. Marienau 1927 - 2022

Douglas Keith Marienau passed away on March 22, 2022, at the age of 94 years.

He was born in Hildreth, Nebraska and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict. After his return, he married Cletis E. Henry in 1953. They lived in Kearney, Nebraska until he retired from the U.S. Postal Service in 1982. He started his retirement by building a home in the mountains near Divide, Colorado. They moved to Colorado Springs in 1995 and then moved to South Jordan, Utah in 2021 to live near their daughter.

Doug approached life with a strong work ethic. He was known by others as a good friend, a lifetime partner, and a supportive father. Along with his family, they enjoyed vacationing in the Rocky Mountains and camping in National Parks. He and Cletis also enjoyed building and renovating houses.

Doug is survived by his wife of 69 years, Cletis, daughter Cynthia (Larry) Spangler, and son Kenneth (Karen) Marienau. They also have four grandchildren: Jeremy, Michelle, Stephanie, and Jennifer; and seven great grandchildren: Ashton, Ellie, Junia, Jace, Henry, Addison, and Naomi.

His ashes will be interred at the Utah Veterans Cemetery & Memorial Park in Bluffdale, Utah.
