Dulce Oliveira de Carvalho

Dulce Oliveira de Carvalho was born on November 10th, 1929 in Recife, Brazil to Diogo Oliveira de Carvalho and Elvira Augusta do Amaral. She was the oldest of 3 sisters, and also had 4 brothers. At the age of 28 she relocated to Rio de Janeiro to move in with her sister Waldete, who was married and had an 8-month old baby girl. Dulce became the help, support, and constant friend in the life of her sister and to her sister’s whole family from that point forward. She helped care for her niece and four more nephews that came later. She continued her labor of love as the family grew up and new generations of babies came along. She was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, and was well beloved by all those she came in contact with. She served countless many, always displaying a warm smile and caring eyes. Her ability to anticipate other people’s needs and her incredible, constant altruism was Dulce’s unique and powerful way to show love. So it was natural that eventually not only her own nieces and nephews, but all who knew her came to call her “Tia Dulce” (aunt Dulce). She had made her way into all of their hearts and she was indeed everyone’s favorite aunt. After her sister Waldete passed away, Dulce moved to Saratoga Springs, Utah to be cared for by her niece along with the help of other family members. She was received and looked after with much love until she peacefully passed away in her sleep on Friday, December 3oth, 2016. She was released from the pains and discomforts of her ailing body, and reunited with her parents, sister, brothers, her nephews Henrique and Marcelo Santos, and other loved ones whom she had missed so very much. We are humbled by the legacy she has left of incredible dedication, service and love to others. We will miss her, but are so grateful we know we will see her again someday.

A memorial will be held in Dulce’s honor on Saturday, January 7th, 2017, with viewing from 11 AM to 11:45AM, and funeral services following at 12PM, at Jacobs Ranch Ward Building located at 267 W. Weatherby Dr. Saratoga Springs, Utah.
