Fisimeimu’a Alipate Moleni Sr.

We regret to inform you of the passing of our amazing husband, father, and grandfather: Fisimeimu’a Alipate Moleni Sr.

He died peacefully on December 25, 2021 in West Valley City, Utah, surrounded by his sweetheart, children, and grandchildren.

Fisi was born on August 11, 1946, in Tu’anuku Vava’u, Tonga, to Ana and Alipate Moleni. He attended BYU Hawaii, where he met his eternal sweetheart. He later received his Master’s Degree from BYU Provo. He used his education to help the youth of Salt Lake for 20 years until he retired in 2016.

Before Utah, he lived in the beautiful islands of Tonga, New Zealand, and Hawaii. He’s been everything from a bouncer and award-winning athlete to a teacher, coach, and mentor. While he had many callings in life, his greatest and most loved were that of husband, dad, and papa.

He was a man of few words, but his presence alone said more than enough. He will be remembered for his tough exterior and tender heart. His bright smile and warm laugh will never be forgotten.

Many will mourn the passing of this great and noble spirit, but his legacy will live on through his sweetheart, Liahona, along with their 11 kids and their spouses, and 41 grandkids.

God be with you until we meet again, our beloved Papa.

Fisi is survived by his wife of 50 years, Rangi Liahona Moleni; 7 sons and their spouses, James and Moana Moleni, Fisimeimu’a Jr. and Priscilla Moleni, Stanley and Lee Marie Moleni, Nathan and Katherine Moleni, Lars and Jenny Moleni, Alipate and Krisann Moleni, Harold and Sheriann Moleni; 4 daughters and their spouses, Elsie and Gusty Toluta’u, Ana Moleni, Celia Moleni and Vernon Ale, Emilie and Justin Fangalua; and 41 grandkids.
