Gregory Benson

Gregory Benson, Father, Son, Uncle, Brother and a good friend passed away on July 18,2021.  Born July 13, 1975, son of Gary Ross and Victoria Lee Irvine.  

Greg grew up around Kearns and Oquirrh Shadows. (K Town and OSB) He had an infectious laugh and a joyous demeanor, that would draw people to him.  He was always quick to check in on his friends to ensure everyone was doing well.  Growing up he established many lifelong friendships.  His second home was at Russ Garcia’s house.  Russ’s mom “Momma Sue” was quick to welcome him into the home and Russ’s dad “The Bear” was quick to chase him away when he got home.  Only for Russ to sneak Greg back in 20 minutes later after the Bear went into hibernation.   

Greg’s shared his passions for music and camping with his children Morgan and Mariah.  Greg loved motorcycles and spent many weekends going on charity rides supporting various worthwhile causes.     He loved being an 80’s kid and a 90’s adult.  He had a passion for all the childhood movies and would reminisce about the good ol’ days over a beer and smoke with friends and loved ones. He lived life on his own terms and enjoyed every day to the fullest. 

Greg loved his kids and family.  He was proud of his dad, his brother Gary, and his mom.  He always wanted everyone to know that he loved and respected his mom.

Greg had a special connection with Tara and loved her very much.  They both loved the outdoors and spent a lot time sharing the passion with Tara’s kids.  

Preceded in death by his dad Gary Ross.

Greg is survived by his two children Morgan and Mariah Benson, his mom Victoria Lee Irvine (husband Dave), brother Gary Benson (wife Sa), sister Melissa Benson (Missy), niece Cadence Victoria, and nephews Garry Ross, JT Ross and Gregory Ross.

Greg is loved by many and will be missed more than words could ever say.
