Gregory Vernal Smith

Gregory Vernal Smith, age 26. Our beautiful shining, spiritual light passed on to his Heavenly Father June 30th, 2019 at 8am. He was born February 25th, 1993 at Pioneer Valley Hospital.

Greg is survived by his parents David and Kim Smith.  His older brother Dan Smith, and his sister Krista Smith.  His wonderful fiancée Ashley Staker is considered part of our family as they were soon to be married.  Greg’s light will shine on in the people he touched, he was always willing to help, or cheer someone up by his silly dances or jokes.  He was so loved by those who knew him well. He always tried to help anyone by giving of himself 110% or more. He gave everything, never asking for anything.  He did struggle with this life; the way people could be cruel or unappreciative of his thoughtfulness. He was always loved though and appreciated by us regardless.  He was the ‘glue’ that brought our family together for the first time on Christmas 2018.  

The family of Greg would like to thank all of those who helped us with his final services.  There are so many of you that have helped, and we truly hope to ‘pay it forward’ as we are so grateful.  The donations and volunteers who helped or are helping with his services are so appreciated as well.  

His memorial service will be held at the LDS Chapel 1465 West Bristol Bridge Road West Jordan UT, 84088 Tuesday July 9th, 2019 at 11 am. Friends and family may arrive at 10:30 am to visit. There will be a light luncheon prepared by the ward following a short service. Any pictures or stories of Gregory would be so appreciated. Thank you.
