James Floyd Ireland (Big Jim), born on March 7, 1950 has passed away October 18, 2017. At 67 years of age. He passed away in his home in North Salt Lake , UT, Surrounded by loved ones his wife of 43 years Mellody, and three daughters.
James was born in Hood River, Or. Graduated from Winston Churchill High School in 1968. Studied at Lane community college, enlisted to serve his country in the Air Force during the Vietnam war. Jim met his wife while they both were stationed in Japan at a LDS mormon picnic. They married on August 14, 1974 in the LDS Ogden Temple and soon after started their beautiful family.
James was preceded in death by his Father Homer Ireland, his mother Barbara Reilly, Daughter Shawna Ireland, Mother-in-law Betty Foster, and Brother-in-law Randy Allen.
James is survived by his loving wife of 43 years Mellody K Ireland, Two brothers John (Carmella) Ireland,and Rick (Marla) Ireland. Five children Laura (Scott) Randall, James (Ellyn) Ireland, Barbara (Ryan) Barkdull, David (Erin) Ireland, Rachel (Matt) Thompson, 19 grandchildren, and two great grandchildren, Two sister-in-law Kathy Allen, Georgia (Steve) Sefton, and many nieces and nephews that he loved dearly.
There will be a service to be held in Decatur, Illinois for his passing Friday November 3rd at 5 pm and memorial/Visitation service Saturday November 4th at 11am - 2pm at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Days Saints. Address is as follows, 3955 Lourdes Dr. Decatur, IL, 62526
