James Alfred “Jim” Powell, 53 died August 8th 2017. James was born May 28, 1964 to Bill J and Mary Lou Powell in Murray, Utah, the 4th of 6 children. As a child he lived in Sandy Utah, then moved with his family to Alpine, Utah. He attended School in Alpine, Payson and South Jordan, graduating from Provo Canyon School and LDS Seminary.
James was a kind child and young man who loved children and animals. James married Lorna McEwan on February 2nd 1989 and together had one son, Benjamin James Powell. They were later divorced.
James worked hard and got an Electronic Engineering Technician degree from ITT Tech. He worked with many companies in that field. James also was extremely talented in home improvement, doing work to improve many homes and churches.
He is survived by his son, father, 3 brothers and 2 sisters. He was preceded in death by his mother.
Memorial service will be Wednesday, August 16, at 12:30 PM 165 N 100 East, Alpine Utah.
