Julie Ann Trujillo, age 49, passed away peacefully on Wednesday December 4, 2019 at her home in Sandy, Utah surrounded by her husband Randy Carter, family, and the great staff of IHC hospice by her side after years of battling deteriorating heart failure.

Julie was born in Phoenix, Arizona on July 7, 1970 to Antonio and Lila (DeLeeuw) Trujillo. She grew up living in Phoenix, Arizona and Wayne County Utah. She loved being surrounded by her family and friends. She had an amazing talent for cooking and sewing which was enjoyed by everyone who was blessed by her talents. She loved to serve people no matter how small or big the task. Her home was filled with memories of inviting friends into her home to enjoy a warm meal, play games, or to finish a homemade quilt for someone. She had a beautiful family, and many were blessed to have her in their lives. 

In her professional career Julie worked with youth at risk for over 10 years, volunteered in Scouting, was an ambulance driver, and finished her career with the Utah Department of Corrections as an Office Specialist ll. She loved working with the staff and putting together Correctional Week, planning barbecues, and being on the Employee Council Sub for Santa all of which served her co-workers and community.

 Julie is survived by her husband Randall “Randy” Carter, her 3 children, Jared (Son) and Liann Terry, Jeremy Wardle (Son), Shantel Wardle (Daughter) Emily Terry (Granddaughter), James Terry (Grandson), Trudy Trujillo (Sister), Ricky (Stepbrother) and Camille Brinkerhoff, Stacey (Stepsister) and Jerry Hughes, and Roger Brinkerhoff (Stepbrother), Lila and Manny (Mother and Stepfather), and Gelina DeLeeuw (Grandmother). She also had seven stepchildren, Tyrell Wardle, Tate Wardle, Andy Toala, Brittany Tulaga, McKenzie Carter, Mary Carter, Scottie Carter and 6 step-grandchildren.

She was proceeded in death by her brother Michael Trujillo, Grandfather Jim DeLeeuw, and Great Grandma Lila Taylor.

The viewing will be held at the Kramer Funeral Home on Thursday December 12 between 5:00 PM and 9:00 PM located at:

Funeral services will be held on Friday December 13, 2019 at 4:00 PM at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Days Chapel located at:

  • 586 East 8400 South, Sandy, Utah 84070
