Kayle Glen Hardy

Sadly, Kayle Glen Hardy passed away peacefully October 15, 2022.

He was a kind, gentle man. According to family lore, he was delivered on August 11, 1948 in a car speeding from Mt. Pleasant to LDS Hospital and was named after the doctor who delivered him.

Kayle was raised in Mt. Pleasant. He excelled at baseball and competed in rodeo. He graduated North Sanpete High, attended Snow College, and graduated from BYU.

He later completed a Substance Abuse Counseling course at the “U” thus he became a Utah Man.

He became a licensed SAC. Kayle worked his way through school at Utah State Parks, Geneva steel and milking cows. He spent 11 years as an UDOC officer, followed by 17 years at Salt Lake County Pretrial Services where he served as case manager for Utah’s first state drug court. He helped and nurtured hundreds.

In 1995, he married Brooke. Their common passion was horses. On Keno and Charlie they galloped through life together. Further adventures included trips home and abroad with dear friends. He also loved his dogs: Bashful, Chapa, Hunter, Skipper and Jax.

He is survived by Brooke; son Jason Cory (Christy, Taryn, Landon); stepson Jason Wells (Mia) and a multitude of wonderful friends.

A special thank you to his wonderful care managers at Sunrise Senior Living.

No formal service is planned. His ashes will be spread in the valleys, mountains and streams of Sanpete where his heart and soul have always lived.

Keno came to carry him home.
