LornaRue Frei Pymm, 90

LornaRue Frei Pymm was born June 28, 1931, to Rex R. and LaRue Nelson Frei. She passed away April 20, 2022, just 2 months short of her 91 st birthday.

She grew up in St. George, Utah running around and creating adventures with her siblings, cousins, and friends. She graduated with an associate degree from DixieCollege, and a bachelor’s degree from Utah State University. Lorna was an Art teacherfor over 30 years, working at both Parowan High School and Wasatch Jr. High in SaltLake City. She loved what she did and was proud of her student’s talent and art pieces.

She was always a very active and free-spirited person and loved to stay busy. Some of her favorite activities were painting, sculpting, hiking, swimming, playing tennis, gardening, reading, horseback riding, and in her senior years’ puzzles with her daughter. She rarely missed a Utah Jazz game and enjoyed “talking basketball” with her grandson. Lorna loved animals and always had a cat, or two, or three to keep her company, as well as her dog Meg. She introduced her granddaughter to horseback riding, and it quickly became a strong bond and passion between the two of them. If you knew Lorna, you knew her hidden talent of being able to stand on one leg while tying her shoe, her very iconic and impressive wink, or loud clapping at her grandchildren’s soccer games.

She is survived by her daughter, Tais P. (Dwight) Allen, grandchildren Rory Allen and Sage Allen, all of Riverton, UT and brother Milton N. Frei of Chilcoot, CA. She was preceded in death by her parents Rex R. and LaRue N. Frei, brother Louis R. Frei, and sister Sandra F. Petersen. Interment at the St. George City Cemetery.
