Patricia Patterson

Patricia Brough Patterson, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt passed away August 11, 2017 after losing her battle with ALS. She was born September 24, 1951 to Lee and Agnes Brough.

She is remembered for her 30 years of service to the BSA Great Salt Lake Council, Granite Trail District, Old Mill District, Salt Lake South Cottonwood Zone, and Pack 3685. She served in Ward and Stake offices in the Primary, Relief Society, and Young Women’s organization. She attended three years at the University of Utah before coming home to be a full-time mother. Pat played the violin at Granite High School and was a member of the Pep Club. She sang with the Ward Choir until her speech was affected by ALS. She was always found with a sewing project in her hands and many of us are recipients of her handicrafts. She provided day care in her home, worked for Murray School District, Abell Communications, and Hunter Douglas.

She married Douglas J Patterson in the Salt Lake Temple on January 9, 1974 and they have six children and nine grandchildren. Brooke (Joel) Johnston-Obray, Angilee (Steve) DuBreuil, Carolyn (Jacob) Overdiek, James (Nancy) Patterson, Kevin (Meredith) Patterson, and Emilee Barker. 

Preceded in death by parents Lee Squires and Agnes Brough, and son-in-law, Jeff Johnston.

A viewing will be held on Wednesday, August 16th  from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. The funeral services will be on Thursday, August 17th at 11:00 AM with a viewing preceding from 10-10:45 AM at the Chevy Chase Ward located at 5235 S Wesley Road in Murray.
