Paul Eggleston

Paul Eggleston passed away peacefully on February 14, 2023, after a long and courageous battle with health issues. He was born on October 25, 1948, in San Luis Obispo, California, to Harry Leon Eggleston and Phyllis Eleanor Christensen, and was fourth of four siblings.
He was baptized a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on April 1, 1961, by his brother Jim Eggleston, and served in many callings throughout his life.
Paul spent the majority of his formative years in San Jose, California, where he attended Kirk Elementary School and John Muir Jr. High School. He later moved to Sacramento, California, where he completed his high school education by graduating from Luther Burbank High School in 1967.
At 18, he joined the Air Force, completing basic training in Texas before becoming a Jet engine mechanic at Chanute Air Force Base. He served in England and California, achieved the rank of Sergeant, and then served in Thailand. After two years in England as a Staff Sergeant, he returned to the US with his wife and baby to settle on a farm in Nevada.

On April 22, 1972, Paul married Anna Myers in the Los Angeles Temple. The couple was blessed with ten children before eventually parting ways through divorce.

After some time had passed, Paul found love again and married Rebecca Knight on August 10, 2002 and together they welcomed a daughter into their family. Paul and Rebecca were later sealed in the Oquirrh Mountain LDS Temple in 2013
Paul was preceded in death by his parents and by his son, Leon Paul Eggleston. He is survived by his wife, Rebecca, and their daughter, Emily, as well as the spouse from his first marriage, Anna Myers, their children,
Lily (Terry), Legrand, Lisa (Troy), Luke (Diana), Laura (Billy), Linda (Justin), Lynell (Marcus), Lance, Lee “Mike,” and 19 grandchildren. Paul is also survived by his siblings, Jim (Jeanie) Eggleston, Jack (Sharon) Eggleston, his twin sister Paula Harlow, and Aaron (Christina) Groth.
There will be a gathering of family and friends at 9:30 AM on Friday, March 10th, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM at the Magna Utah Stake Center of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, which is located
at 3084 South 8400 West.

A graveside service will be held immediately after at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Bluffdale. We ask that flowers be sent the day of the funeral services to 3084 South 8400 West.
The family would like to thank Enhabit Hospice and their wonderful nurses, Katrina McFadden, his favorite nurse at the VA hospital, all those who visited and called him, and Jeff Stewart for making life interesting and
being his best friend.
