Sally Johanson Canavan

On Saturday March 23, 2019 Sally Johanson Canavan unexpectedly passed away at the age of 63 years

old at her home in West Valley City, Utah.

Sally Johanson Canavan was born on February 11, 1956 to Verna and Ross Johanson. She was born into

a family of three siblings, Richard Johanson, Sharon Bemis and Ron Johanson. Sally graduated from

Irvine High in 1974. In 1975 Sally married Bud Cananvan in the Salt Lake temple they had three amazing

children together, who will always be loved, Amber, Randy and Matthew. They later divorced. Sally was

an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and loved her faith.

Sally is survived by her three children Amber Jorgensen (Ziggy), Randy Canavan (Jessica), and Matthew

Canavan (Danielle) and six grandchildren Charlie Wilner (Vanessa), Jason Jorgensen, Alyssa Jorgensen,

Alex Jorgensen, Sierra Barber and Austin Elder and one great grandchild Xavier Wilner.

Sally had the most contagious laugh and loved to make other people smile. Sally loved family events,

she very sweet and will always be remembered as part of the red hat society. Sally you will be missed

by so many family and friends.

A viewing for Sally will be held from 9:00 am – 10:45 am on Friday, April 12, 2019 at the Church of Jesus

Christ of Latter Day Saints, 5400 West 4322 South (Valley View Ward), West Valley, Utah. A funeral will

follow at 11:00 am at the same address. The interment will take place following the funeral at the

Valley View Cemetery at 4335 West 4100 South, West Valley, Utah. A luncheon for family and friends

will take place at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 5400 West 4322 South (Valley View

Ward) immediately following the interment.

In lieu of flowers the family is asking for donations to go towards the memorial service an account has

been set up at Mountain America Credit Union under the Sally Canavan Memorial Fund and there is also

a Go Fund Me page set up under the Sally Canavan Memorial Fund as well. Thank you to family, friends

and church leaders for all your help, love and support.
