Thomas Bess Higham

Thomas Bess Higham was born November 21st 1925 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Thomas Gould Higham Sr. and Leona Mae Bess Higham.

Tom returned to his heavenly home October 20th 2021 where he was able to reunite with his wife of 60 years, Barbara Ann Craig Higham who proceeded him in death on May 6th 2017. Tom was looking forward to the heavenly family reunion of his parents and all ten of his siblings that proceeded him in death.

He loved to share fond memories of his life, from his time in the Navy as a young man, working at Moreton Salt with his dad and brothers after the war. He went on to work with a couple of top oil companies, Atlantic Richfield Company in the 1960’s which took him from California to Fairbanks, Alaska and the North Slope of Alaska at Prudhoe Bay, in the 1970’s to Salt Lake City and his career with the Williams Companies which allowed him to travel to numerous states until he retired.

He was dedicated and loyal to his family and career. Tom was well liked and enjoyed his friendships at Cedarwood in Sandy during his last couple of years after his wife Barbara’s passing. He had a couple of good friends that he spoke of often and looked forward to seeing them in the dining room.

He is survived by his three children, seven grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, and extended family that he had ongoing contact with over the years.

Special thank you to the nurses and staff at Canyons Hospice along with Sandy Health and Rehab who provided care and compassion in his last few weeks.

His wishes were to be cremated and there are no services scheduled at this time.
