Tyler Reid Ellis

November 16, 1993- December 20, 2018

Tyler left us much too soon and returned home to our loving Heavenly Father on December 20, 2018. He will be greatly missed leaving a tremendous hole in each of our hearts.  Tyler was born in Murray, Utah to Carolyn (Reynolds) Johnson and Curt Ellis on November 16, 1993.  Tyler graduated from Hunter High School among class of 2012. He worked as an Assistant Manager in retail, working with the same company since he was 16 years old.  Over the years he made many great friends at his job.  Our adored brother, son and friend had a heart of gold. He was always so willing to help and serve anyone in any way possible.  He was the most generous person. Tyler would give his last dime to anyone he knew even if that meant him going without.  He was very loyal and trustworthy to every close friend or family member he had.  His friends were also considered his family.  He was the best brother to anyone he loved.  Tyler was a big smiling face to everyone he met or knew bringing them so much joy. Tyler was so quick to crack a joke or try and make someone else’s day. He was always great at building people up when they were down. Tyler loved dogs and would stop to pet any and every dog he met.  He dreamed of moving out and having his own dog someday. Some of his favorite hobbies included cooking and eating.  He always loved trying new foods even if it was something very unusual. Tyler loved listening to music anywhere he could, even if it was louder than preferred. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed hiking and many other outdoor activities. He also loved cars and motorcycles. Tyler loved spending time with one of his favorite people his step-dad Jim.  He always loved spending time learning from him and helping him fix things around the house or repairing cars. Tyler loved spending time with family and friends whenever possible.  One of his favorite quotes was “Always a lesson, NEVER a failure”. We have learned many lessons from Tyler during his life. Tyler was loved by so many and will be greatly missed.

Tyler is survived by his grandparents Marilyn (Duane) Fox,  parents Carolyn Johnson (James) & Curt Ellis, brothers and sisters James (Elaina) Johnson,  Andy Ellis, Angie (Tim) Moore , Britney (Matt) Shaw, Brandon (Cayli) Johnson,  James (Katie) Ellis, Caitie (Nathan) Jolley, and many nieces, nephews and friends. The family will be holding a private celebration of life for Tyler including close family and friends.  Date and location still to be determined.  We would like to express our gratitude to the staff at IMC hospital for their loving care for Tyler during his last few weeks.
