Willard Gerald Butterfield, our loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend passed away September 9, 2018. Born February 8, 1927 to Joseph Ensign Butterfield and Lavern Ellen Henricksen. Willard married the love of his life, Betty Jean Luce on November 13, 1945. Together they had 6 children, 16 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren and 9 great great grandchildren. He retired from Kennecot in 1989 after 40 years and went to work driving for Burlington. Willard loved motorcycles. He raced his Indian at the Salt Flats, braved Widow Maker and rode his 1961 Matchless everywhere. He was a strict but loving father who always tried to help anyone, any way he could. He is survived by son Willard (Rayona) Butterfield, daughter Agnes (Brian) Phillips, son Gary (Barbara) Butterfield, son Greg Butterfield, son Rod Butterfield, 15 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, 9 great great grandchildren and has 2 more on the way. He was preceded in death by the love of his life, Betty “Boss”, Daughter Marlene, Grandson Rodney, great granddaughter Daliah and many other friends and family. A viewing will be held at Kramer family funerals, 2500 South Decker Lake Blvd in West Valley City, Utah September 14th from 11-12 with funeral services from 12-1 and internment to follow at Memorial Estates cemetery where he will be laid to rest.
