Alan Jackson Linford

Alan Jackson Linford, 70, loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, passed away April 24, 2019 after a long battle with dementia.  He was born on November 11, 1948 in Salt Lake City, UT to Grant Hodges Linford and LaZaun Jackson Linford.  After serving a tour in Vietnam as a machine gunner, he married the love of his life, Carolyn, on July 3, 1978.  Together they raised their five children.  Alan loved riding horses, playing pool and building projects.  


Alan is survived by his loving wife Carolyn; his children, Wendy Linford Guay (with first wife Alexa Clarke), AJ Linford (Melissa), Tiffany Anderson (Warren), Jennifer Linford Bourne and Jessica Altamirano (Antonio), 12 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.  He is also survived by his siblings, Melvin (Judy), Earl (Andre'), Nona, Grant (Connie), Arlene (Doug Dalton), Brent (Susan), Sherry (Larry Daniels), Jay (Allison) and brother-in-law Bernerd Macke.  Alan was preceded in death by his parents Grant Hodges and LaZaun, and sister Mary Linford Macke.


Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 7, 2019 at 10:30am at the Bennion Heights Ward, 3555 W. 5620 S. Taylorsville, UT 84118.  A viewing will be prior to services from 9:00-10:00am (public) and 10:00-10:30 (family).  Graveside services will be at the Utah Veterans Cemetery and Memorial Park, 17111 S. Camp Williams Rd (1700 W),  Bluffdale, UT 84065.
