Camille Sue Luce

Our beloved sister, aunt, cousin, and friend passed away on April 2, 2022, at the age of 54. She was born on October 21, 1967, to Robert E. Luce Sr. and Helen Allen in Covina, CA.

Cami spent her childhood living in West Covina, CA. Often you would find her spending time at a young age, going on dates with her big brother and future sister-in-law while they were dating. She enjoyed taking tap lessons as a young girl and you would always catch her singing and dancing. She loved spending family vacations down at the river in Earp, CA where the family had a mobile home where she could swim and go boating. Cami spent her Highschool years devoting her time with music and singing. She was a member of the Chamber Singers perfecting the voice that we all loved to listen to. Often, she talked about driving in her 1985 Burgundy Toyota Supra up and down the Pacific Coast Highway with her cousins. She graduated from West Covina High School in 1985.

Cami then attended Brigham Young University in 1985. She immediately met lifelong friends from the moment she was enrolled. She majored in Music but graduated in 1990 in Elementary Education. After graduation, she moved to California and got her first job teaching at Los Amigos Elementary in Rancho Cucamonga teaching 1 st grade. She then moved to Texas in 1992 working at Alief ISD at Chancellor Elementary teaching 3 rd grade. She was an active member of the Alief Ward in Houston serving as a ward missionary. She also sang in the ward choir. She moved back to Utah in 1997 and continued with her love of teaching. She taught at Monroe Elementary School from 1997-2004 teaching various grades. She took a break from teaching to pursue a life in Utah real estate and waitressing. She ultimately went back to her true passion of teaching and taught at Hillside Elementary in 2015.

Cami was the definition of being a free spirit. She carried a light with her that everyone could recognize. She had an impeccable way of listening to others that made you feel that you were the most important person in her life. She adored her family. She made it a mission in her life to be the best possible aunt she could possibly be. She loved all her nieces and nephews with devotion and intention. Her first thought was to give in life and that was what she did. She gave to others. Whether it was by teaching, giving presents to others, her fun personality, or her advice. She was always giving to everyone, no matter their situation.

Cami is preceded in death by her mother, father, and brother.

She is survived by her brother Jerry Luce and her sister-in-law Debra (Robert) Luce.

A Graveside Service will be held at Elysian Gardens on April 14, 2022, at 12:00 pm (1075 E 4580 S Millcreek, UT 84117).
